Horst Unterlechner is the Managing Director of iBert (PTY) Ltd.
As a qualified engineer and architect, he has worked in the cold storage and food processing industry for 30 years and has travelled across the continents from Russia to the United States. He is experienced in food processing engineering and waste treatment plants and for the last 12 years has focused on the biogas industry. He specializes in small scale biogas plants, including second generation biochemistry technology utilizing rumens and cellulose to produce bio-methane. Horst has built, designed and manufactured more than 170 biogas plants in Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, UK and Africa and played a key role in the standardization and commercialization of the RaCBio technology.
Horst is an international leader in feedstock production, preparation and processing and has presented numerous talks on the subject.
Horst obtained a Bachelor of Science Structural Engineering (architecture) degree at Innsbruck University in Austria.
He is an accomplished snow skier and qualified ski instructor who was part of the Young Austria National ski team and also enjoys cycling and golf.
Leon Venter is the Chief Executive Officer of Low Voltage Switchboards (PTY) Ltd. a company he founded in 1998 and guided to its position as a leader in the South African switchgear market.
He began his career as an electrician for Barlows Heavy Engineering (PTY) Ltd., where he specialized in fault-finding and repair of control panels. He also worked for AEG-Telefunken AG as a design engineer in the Motor Control Center and Power Distribution Board division where he became more involved in switchgear assemblies. After qualifying, he joined the services of GEC-Alstom Ltd, where he attained the position of project manager. This position entailed a more in-depth involvement with factory-built assemblies for the industrial and mining sectors of the market.
He obtained his National Technical Diploma in 1985 to qualify as an Electrical Technician Engineer and in 1990 he earned a Diploma as a Member of the Project Management Institute. In 1993 he was awarded a Certificate of Membership to the Institute of Railway Engineers (London), and in 1995 he was awarded an Associate Membership of the South African Institute of Electrical Technician Engineers.
Leon enjoys golf in his free time.
Russell is a qualified Quantity Surveyor and has been in property development since finishing university in 1980.
He focuses mainly on residential property development and has completed many successful developments in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg and more recently in the property hotspot of Ballito and surrounding areas on the KZN North Coast of South Africa. These developments have included shopping centers, factories and offices and the very successful Dainfern College private school in northern Johannesburg.
His interest in development of sustainable property developments will assist Veritas in further developing our portfolio of sustainable Green real estate developments. These include high end coastal security development as well as low impact sustainable hotel and spa developments in restricted environment areas.
Russell graduated with degrees in BSc(QS) and MBA at Wits University.
He has a passion for wildlife and is a top masters swimmer competing at the World Masters Swimming event in Gwangju in 2019, participating in all freestyle events and the 3Km open water event.
